Yes. Use a date range plus the number of days as the units. if you wish bill out one line per day and leave unit at 1

Thanks for answering. Where do you put the date range?

It was my understanding that if it was a 30 day month and the patient was in the hospital for 10 days that month you would bill 20 units.

The CMS 1500 has a from and to date field for each line item. Just make sure the date span and the units match up. At least at the payer I work for system gets confused if you bill a date span of 10 days and only bill 5 units and kicks it out. Although we've had so many issues with units were considering a rule of no more than one date of service per line.
